Advanced X-Ray Services for Eastgate Pets
Our furry friends may not be able to speak to us with words, but their actions speak volumes. Pet owners know when their normally spunky pup loses their pep, or when their kitty’s coughs are more than just the everyday hairball. But to understand the why behind your pet’s troubling behavior, sometimes we need to look beyond the surface. That’s where advanced digital imaging comes in.
At My Pet’s Vet in Eastgate, we use the latest X-ray technology to diagnose a range of injuries and illnesses in pets large and small. We combine calming techniques with high-quality imaging to get the fullest picture in the least amount of time. Whether your pet is suffering from a fracture, joint issue, soft tissue disorder, or foreign object, we can uncover the problem and begin a course of treatment right away.

How We Use X-Rays to Help Animals Thrive
Digital X-rays are a safe and non-invasive way to diagnose and guide treatment for a range of conditions. Our technicians have been highly trained to calm and position cats, dogs, and exotic pets so that we can get all the diagnostic information we need with the least possible exposure to radiation. We may order an X-ray on your pet for a variety of reasons, including:

Our Digital X-Ray Technology is Heads & Tails Above the Rest
Digital X-rays are a big step up from the old-school film kind still used in many practices. The pictures are much clearer, so it’s easier for your vet to spot even tiny problems. Plus, these systems use less radiation, which is good for both your pet and the vet team. Best of all – crystal-clear images appear right away! This means faster diagnoses and less stress for everyone involved.
Digital X-rays also make things easier for our clinic to share. We can easily save the images, share them with board-certified specialists if necessary, and keep them all organized in your pet’s medical records. This speeds things up and makes sure your pet always gets the best possible care, consistently. And the cool thing is, these machines can do more than just regular X-rays – they can even be used for dental checks and other special procedures.

Keeping Pets & Their Humans Safe and Happy
At My Pet’s Vet Group, safety is our top priority—but we never take your pet’s comfort for granted. If an X-ray is required, we may need to sedate your pet to make sure that we can complete the procedure as quickly and effectively as possible. This limits both their exposure to radiation and their level of stress. But don’t worry: a technician will be by their side the entire time, and our staff will always keep you fully informed of any recommendations regarding sedation and aftercare.
We’re Here to Answer Your Pet X-Ray Questions
The cost of an X-ray depends on the size of the animal, the location of the injury, the number of photos required, whether or not sedation is required, and other factors. At My Pet’s Vet in Eastgate, we’re always happy to provide you with transparent pricing upfront so you never have to guess about the vet bill. We also offer a number of Wellness Plans that cover certain types of diagnostic testing!
X-rays of dogs and cats are taken much similarly to how they’re taken of humans but with some important differences. First, we carefully position your pet on a special table to get the best images, which may involve gentle restraint or, in some cases, sedation to keep them still. Then, we position the X-ray machine over the area of interest and capture the image digitally, sometimes taking X-rays from multiple angles to get a complete picture of what’s going on inside your pet’s body.
The whole process usually doesn’t take very long, but it’s important for us to keep your pet still during the exposure. At My Pet’s Vet, we can also X-ray small and exotic pets, like hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more.
Some pet insurance policies cover X-rays, while others don’t. Coverage depends on the carrier, the individual policy, and the circumstances leading to the procedure. We highly recommend checking your policy before the procedure begins if you plan to submit a claim to your insurance carrier.
