Dr. Chris Bern

Dr. Bern grew up in North Carolina and is a 1997 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He also has a Master’s in Ethology from the University of Tennessee. He moved to Georgia in 2006 and now considers Northern Georgia his home. Though well versed in all aspects of small animal medicine, he has special interests in behavior, soft tissue surgery, and exotic pets. Teaching and client education are also passions of his. He shares his home with his wife, two dogs, and 2 rabbits. Outside of being a vet, he participates in local community theatre, is a Disney aficionado, and has strong interest in comic books, science fiction, and fantasy genres. He and his wife also dress in costume for sci-fi conventions and renaissance fairs.

Dr. LeeAnn Manders

Dr. Manders is a Georgia native who grew up in Douglasville. She is a 2023 graduate of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also has a master’s in biology from the University of West Georgia. She has a passion for small animal medicine with specific interests in dentistry and preventative care. She also enjoys seeing exotic pets. She shares her home with her two small rescue dogs. During her free time, she enjoys kayaking, swimming, reading, and binge watching her favorite TV shows.

Megan

At an early age it was clear that Megan had an abundant love for animals. She is an honor graduate from Rockmart High School and was rewarded for completing the animal science career pathway. After that, she attended Young Harris College and The University of West Georgia until receiving her bachelor’s degree in biology. Megan has been working in the veterinary field since early 2017. She enjoys spending her free time at nearby parks, lakes, and outdoor trails with her boxers Verrah and Willow. Waiting to greet her at the home with all the cuddles, is her cat Meeko. Megan is so excited to be a part of the My Pet’s Vet family and cannot wait to meet you and your fur babies

Tori was born in NY and raised in Kennesaw, GA. She’s been a loving pet owner since the mere age of 8. As a childhood cancer survivor, Tori has dipped her foot in multiple professions that follow the concept of caring for life’s little creatures. Her interest is anything and everything about healthcare sparked her passion and excitement to build her knowledge. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, visiting new places with friends and researching the world of science.

Greer has had a passion for animals since they were young, owning pets such as cats and dogs to rats and reptiles. On moving to Atlanta from their hometown of Tazwell, Tennessee, Greer began to pursue jobs that allowed them to work with animals and learn the skills they wanted to take into her career. This landed Greer at two separate doggy daycare positions where they gained knowledge in body language, basic training and care. They now are pursuing a career in customer service and veterinary assistance at My Pet’s Vet, and is hoping to further their knowledge to push them towards an education in a veterinary related field. When Greer is not working you can find them drawing, exploring new creative mediums, tabletop gaming, and spending time with their partner Joel and their two fur babies, Fish and Roxy.

Amber

Born and raised in Georgia, Amber has had a love and affinity for animals since an early age. She’s had many pets over the years, from dogs, cats, birds, and even a pig. So, it seemed only natural that her next step should be in animal care. Amber is pursuing her Vet Tech degree and is beyond excited to be beginning her career in Vet Assisting. Amber lives with her parents, two furbabies, Loki (Silky Terrier), and Lola (Westie Mix), and eight chickens (Buckbeak, Hedwig, Buffy, Fleur, Laverne, JLo, Morticia and J.J.). When she isn’t working on school, she enjoys swimming with Loki, watching Lola chase lizards and squirrels, reading, and working on her latest embroidery or vinyl project.

Isabella “B” has been working with animals since she was very young. She started pet sitting when she was 8 years old and never stopped. She has a B.S in Biology from Kennesaw State University with a focus in Vet medicine. Her goal is to attend veterinary school in the future. Animals of all shapes and sizes are her passion and love. Her interest in animals is one that will never go away. Animals, especially dogs, have always been extremely special to her. She has a leopard gecko named Cheddar Kraft Single (like the cheese), and a kitten named Clementine. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors, and playing Nintendo games.)

Tyerra McRae is 24 years old. She was born in New York and raised in Powder Springs, Georgia. Tyerra is a proud alumna of Tennessee State University and has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. Her goal is to be a neurologist veterinarian. Becoming a veterinarian not only allows her to treat the illnesses and injuries of animals, but she also gets to provide environmental protection, food safety, public health, and use her education to motivate others In her free time, Tyerra loves to cuddle with her dachshund KC and reading thriller novels in her book club.

Dottie was born in New Jersey but has lived all across the northeast. She’s been involved with animals for years and has studied dog behavior since the age of nine. Dottie has a special love for terriers, especially her own Toy Fox Terriers: Owen, Stevie, Katie, and Suguru. She participates in dog shows in her spare time and loves gaming and writing!

Kamill was born in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently an Honors Scholar at Kennesaw State University majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Kamill enjoys playing various instruments, reading books, playing sports, working out, and of course watching animal documentaries. Although she mainly reads in the summer, her favorite book genre is Historical Fiction. She has been playing the violin for 6 years and has recently had an interest in the piano and guitar. Kamill loves dogs and cats but has a deep passion for exotic pets, reptiles, and wildlife animals. At home, Kamill has a Yorkie named Romeo and an African Sideneck Turtle named Lily. With her in the photo is Romeo and her heavenly angel CoCo.

Misty has lived in Georgia her entire life. She has worked in the vet industry for 25 years. She spent 20 years as a vet tech and the last 5 years as a receptionist. She has had a love of animals since she can remember. She has owned turtles, guinea pigs, ducks, birds, rabbits, rats, dogs and cats. She currently has two dogs; Rosie, her Mostly Mutts rescue. Pearl, her Boston Terrier and her 3 cats. Bishop; named after her favorite book series, and Katniss and Rue (you guessed it; Hunger Games). She loves crafting, making dogs beds, and crocheting blankets. She loves reading; horror and true crime are her favorite. She loves horror movies and documentaries. Misty looks forward to seeing all the new faces and being a part of this veterinary family.

Heather was born and raised in the Kennesaw, Georgia area. She has always had a love for animals of all kinds and has been in the veterinary field since high school. Heather has many pets including a Quarter Horse (Shiney), two dogs (Vulcan and Uhtred), a bearded dragon (Sampson), two ball pythons, two crested geckos, and an axolotl! She is very excited to be a part of the MPV team and looks forward to continuing to care for any pet that needs her. When not riding her horse or playing with her dogs, Heather enjoys reading, cross stitch, and drinking iced coffee.

Kenzi is currently obtaining her bachelor’s in biology, with plans to attend Veterinary School and earn her DVM license. She has prior experience working in kennels, as well as completing in veterinary competitions with FFA and HOSA, where she placed within the top 10 in the stare of Georgia.

Hello, we are the team mascots for My Pets Vet in Kennesaw. We love going to the park to run and play with the other puppies. Verrah is the older sister. When you come to visit us, her favorite babies to see are the small animals. She is very curious and loves to investigate the birds and guinea pigs. She also mans the phones and will be your greeter when one of the CSR is away from the desk. Willow is the baby. She loves everyone and we call her wiggley butt Willow. You can tell her excitement by how fast her behind wiggles. They love to meet and greet all the clients and their fur babies. They have been coming here since they were puppies and have become the mascots of the clinic. So next time you are here, come say “hello” to our wonderful, cute, and cuddly mascots, Miss Verrah and Miss Willow.  Hope to see you soon.
