Richard ‘Jim’ Brown graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 after several years as a graphic artist and musician. Interestingly, he served as a guitarist for the US Army Band of New England in the early 1980s.

After several years of practice, he was hired by his alma mater to act as attending veterinarian at Wisconsin’s Vet School and College of Agriculture. Primates, cattle, swine, fresh water fish, poultry, rodents, biohazard/viral and nutritional research all in a day’s work, along with federal regulatory functions and surgical support.

In his spare time, he volunteers for humane societies and rescues with dogs and cats. He has conducted multiple surgery courses through the years, teaching other veterinarians surgical techniques.

He is quite pleased to be in a warmer climate!
